Exercise 2: Polite and imaginary

Translate into Hungarian.

Give the te command form. Put a prefix after the verb.

Exercise 5: Read and understand

Read each sentence aloud, then reveal the meaning.

  1. Ha nyernék a lottón, először vennék egy kis házat a hegyekben. If I won the lottery, first I would buy a little house in the mountains.
  2. Lenne szíves megmondani, hol van a legközelebbi gyógyszertár? Would you be so kind as to tell me where the nearest chemist's is?
  3. Ha korábban indultunk volna, nem késtük volna le a vonatot. If we had left earlier, we wouldn't have missed the train.
  4. Anya azt mondta, hogy vigyük ki a szemetet, mielőtt elmegyünk. Mum told us to take the rubbish out before we go.
  5. Ne haragudj, de most nem érek rá. Hívj fel holnap! Sorry, but I don't have time now. Call me tomorrow!
  6. Szeretném, ha jövőre együtt mennénk nyaralni. I would like us to go on holiday together next year.
