These exercises cover Lessons 1 to 11. If you get stuck, the lesson number in each title tells you where to look.

Exercise 1: Questions about the text

Answer each question about Eszter's text in your head, in Hungarian if you can, then reveal the answer.

  1. Hol lakik most Eszter? Budapesten lakik. (She lives in Budapest.)
  2. Mit tanul Eszter az egyetemen? Történelmet és angolt tanul. (She studies history and English.)
  3. Van Eszternek autója? Nincs, de van egy biciklije. (No, but she has a bicycle.)
  4. Hány macskája van Mari néninek? Két macskája van. (She has two cats.)
  5. Mit iszik Réka a kávézóban? Kávét iszik. (She drinks coffee.)
  6. Hány nyelven beszél Réka? Három nyelven: magyarul, angolul és franciául. (Three languages: Hungarian, English and French.)
  7. Hány éves Bence? Tízéves. (He is ten.)
  8. Hova mennek szombaton? A piacra mennek. (They go to the market.)

Exercise 2: Verbs (Lessons 5 and 10)

Put the verb into the present tense. Watch out for the definite conjugation.
